Sermon on the Mount: The Beatitudes
In the beatitudes, Jesus seems to describe a people who have put themselves in situations where they need to depend on God. Most of us are pretty good at controlling our environment and relationships and our future. Is it possible that to be truly blessed, to live the life God created us for, we have to purposefully put ourselves in a position where life is out of control and we need to depend on God to deliver us?
