God as our Bridegroom
Jeff Ramsey
July 25, 2010
No relationship in life is intended to be more intimate, foundational and directional than the marriage relationship. This is the relationship that God wants with us, based on the way he extensively uses it in the Bible as a picture for how we relate to him. Yet the Bible tells us the marriage leaves much to be desired and that God has done all that is necessary to put the relationship right.
God as our Shepherd
Jeff Ramsey
July 18, 2010
Throughout the story of the Bible, God pictures himself as a shepherd leading his people as sheep along their journey. Jesus calls himself our 'good shepherd'. This picture was packed with meaning to the cultures existing when the Bible was written. It has something to say to us as well about our need to look to God to lead us on a daily basis.
The Perfect Father
Jeff Ramsey
July 11, 2010
The bible consistently speaks of God as a Father to his people. Why does God choose this metaphor and how should our identity of children to this perfect Father affect our lives?
How do you know who you are?
Jeff Ramsey
June 27, 2010
This week we start a series on 'Identity' by talking about how we evaluate our lives and what determines whether or not we've been successful. If you were to take away all of what our culture says is important in your life, what would be left?

Patience with God
Jeff Ramsey
June 13, 2010
James finishes his letter where he started it, with a call to be patient. His illustrations all involve patience through extreme hardship and push us to a point of understanding that peace isn't the presence of perfect circumstances, but the presence of God in any circumstances.
Control
Jeff Ramsey
June 6, 2010
How do you know the difference between planning responsibly for your future, and being a control freak who squeezes God into a remote corner their life? What is the test to know when you are holding on too tightly?

Ken Cantrell

Taming the Tongue (James 3:1-12)
Shannon Smith
May 23, 2010
James 3 is often labelled as 'Taming the Tongue', but James clearly say that "no man has ever tamed the tongue". Shannon takes us through the passage and points out that it's not our tongue that's the problem, but our heart.

The things I think are good in life are apparently not the things that God thinks are best for me. Today we look at James words about how to approach the difficult times in life and what they might be for.
A Desire for Connection
Jeff Ramsey
April 18, 2010
New forms of social media seem to be emerging at light speed, all promising a better way of connecting to those around us. And we are developing them because we seem desperate to connect. And the Bible tells us that we are created for connection. But is it working?
Ready to Lead
Jeff Ramsey
April 11, 2010
John 21 tells the story of Jesus restoring to his position at the head of the church. Today we look at Peter's back-story leading up to this moment and we see the development of the humility that Jesus knew Peter would need in order to lead his church.
He Is Risen! (John 20)
Jeff Ramsey
April 4, 2010
The Resurrection is a miracle that can be hard to believe and John chapter 20 tells us that it was no different for those closest to Jesus when he was here. We take a look at their journey to faith and how this scene can help us on our faith journey too.
The Loss of Life (John 12)
Jeff Ramsey
March 28, 2010
This week we reach the cross in the Gospel of John, but before he goes, Jesus calls us to follow him, saying, 'Whoever loves his life will lose it but whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.' What is he calling us to and how do we follow?
Lazarus Is Raised (John 11)
Jeff Ramsey
March 21, 2010
Sometimes it seems as if God doesn't know, or doesn't care, or isn't able to do anything about the things that are going on in our lives. I think the story of Lazarus tells us that he's got plans we don't know about and see things we can't see and sometimes we need to just hold on...
The Man Born Blind (John 9)
Jeff Ramsey
March 14, 2010
This story presents the contrast between a blind man who sees Jesus clearly for who he is and a group of religious leaders who are blind to Jesus' identity because they have too much to lose. It puts us in a spot of questioning what it is in our lives that keeps us from seeing Jesus for who he is.
