What is your Staff Role within Visio Dei?

Director of Home Groups and Connection

What is your favorite part of your job?

That is a great question! I think it’s the people. Working with Jeff and Jason is always entertaining. I love meeting with people for coffee or lunch or walks and getting to talk about Visio Dei, life as part of our community, and our journeys of faith.

What is your family like?

My husband and I have a lot of fun together. Matt is tall, blonde, athletic, and handsome. He is my best friend.

What is your favorite color?

Today its purple

If you were a fruit… what kind of fruit would you be?

I would be an orange for sure. Every time I eat a good one I think about how amazing God is. They are sweet but tart at the same time and I am amazed by their flavor. They are the only fruit I don’t get tired of eating. When I was little I used to eat 3-5 a day when they were in season, but I always made my dad peel them for me. I still don’t like how they make my hands sticky, but it’s totally worth it. My roommates in college also gave me a bouquet of oranges for my birthday instead of flowers. It’s a long story… ask me about it sometime.

What is your greatest fear?

Doesn’t “perfect love drive out fear”… I think my fear is not being perfect… I don’t want to have any fears, and all of the ones I do have seem irrational when I put them in biblical contexts, but I do have a real fear and sometimes it is paralyzing. I face it and work through it everyday. It is the fear of not meeting my own expectations (how I look, how I act, what I do, who likes me).

Who is your favorite worship leader? ;)

Hmmm…. Jason Gore of course!

What is your favorite thing to do outside?

I love to run and take walks, especially in the morning. Running gives me time to soak in the day, think, pray, and enjoy nature. Walking gives me time to think, call my parents, or talk with friends. I’m learning how to ride my bike, but its still too nerve racking to be peaceful.

What is your vacation?

Last summer Matt and I drove my brother’s mini van across the country. It was the trip of a lifetime. I have a hard time staying in one place or having a “relaxing” vacation; so this one was perfect! There were new, exciting things to see every day, we took turns driving, saw mountain goats and glacier lakes, tasted wine, cheese and beer, watched baseball, climbed mountains, got in a few tiffs, laughed a lot, met interesting people, went to community fairs, visited family, camped, and slept in parking lots. The list could go on forever. I’ll show you pictures or just tell you stories, but only if you ask ☺
